Considering that unified communications is supposed to improve a business' responsiveness to customers (both existing and prospective), not to mention partners and suppliers, its seems ironic that installing and taking care of UC customer-premise equipment can sometimes be such an involved affair - particularly for smaller businesses UC is supposed to help - that it consumes both time and money better spent on core competencies. That's why both purely hosted "one-stop-shopping" bundled services and hybrid managed services have recently grown in popularity.
